Coming our way this Sunday: Danish releases of music by Bob Rockwell 5 and Christina Dahl; more from Roland Dyens, in advance of his appearance at Guitar Festival Ireland during the latter part of next week; blues guitarist Brownie McGhee (see video); compositions by Rachmaninov, Martinu and Bach; part of Gary McFarland's "America The Beautiful" jazz suite; new jazz from a quintet led by Drew Gress; as well as 3 short pieces by Max Richter.

Another abridged BLUE this Saturday, though the emphasis on quality remains. We'll hear, in advance of his appearance at Guitar Festival Ireland from May 2nd - 5th, the first of the week's recordings by Roland Dyens (see video); the melodic strains of electronica outfit Digitonal; "crossover cellist" Matthew Barley; Robyn Hitchcock will sing a Nick Drake song; saxophonist John Harle with the Bournemouth Sinfonietta; and sax-player Art Pepper with Marty Paich's big band.

We'll be hearing synth-player Steve Moore from his fourth solo CD (his first for Cuneiform); clawhammer banjo-player Suzanne Thomas; a young 'Blues Boy' - a.k.a. B.B. - King (see video); a reconstruction of the requiem mass for composer Francisco Guerrero (buried at Seville Cathedral in 1599); David Sylvian with Ryuichi Sakamoto; Nigel Mooney, duetting with Georgie Fame; Co Clare musician/performer David Hope, from "Scarecrow", a CD he'll be touring in Ireland from next month;more Vivaldi, re-composed by Max Richter; and Kate McGarry with the Frankfurt Radio Big Band.

Expect the usual world of sounds on this Sunday's BLUE, viz. José Miguel Moreno's Baroque lute; American trumpeter Jon Faddis, playing jazz music by Lalo "Mission Impossible" Schifrin (as does Schifrin himself, actually); we'll hear more Max Richter re-inventions of "The Four Seasons"; Irish pianist Eileen Tackney, from the recently-released "South"; singer/guitarist Nigel Mooney, from the soon-to-be-issued "The Bohemian Mooney"; William Dowdall, performing John Buckley's "The Hills Of Templeglantine"; balafon-player Lansiné Kouyaté (see video); and a medley of Elliott Smith songs - 10pm...
