Tonight, we'll hear one of 4 Wolfgang Rihm orchestral pieces inspired by Brahms' 4 symphonies; singer/songwriter Cathal Coughlan; the first of the week's music by Tom Jobim (the BLUE TUNES feature between now and Friday); Sweet Billy Pilgrim's "Arrived At Upside Down"; jazz saxophonist Seamus Blake, playing guitar and singing one of his own songs; Tabea Zimmermann (see video), from a new CD of Hindemith's complete viola works; a Keith Emerson "interlude"; Robin Hill's reading of "Yesterday"; a new interpretation of the first Shostakovich violin concerto by James Ehnes and the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra; and a chamber arrangement of a Bob Marley song by Susan Werner.
