On this Sunday’s BLUE, 3 Buckleys - Michael, Hugh and Tim; the Emerson String Quartet perform a Shostakovich elegy; Oslo-born jazz pianist Tord Gustavsen; Finnish folk outfit Karuna, featuring the sound of the nyckelharpa; a brace of Copland; Dublin-based Francesco Turrisi (see video) and associates from "Grigio"; an Elgar serenade for strings; Jack Teagarden and Billie Holiday; more keyboard sonatas by C.P.E. Bach; and Julie London sings a song by Lionel Bart.

Saturday’s BLUE comprises Foden’s Richardson Band, playing a work for brass band by Philip Wilby; Havana resident-cum-pianist Harold López-Nussa (see video); guitarists Ralph Towner and Bert Jansch; a Britten double concerto; singer-songwriters Lisa O’Neill, Bill Callahan and Ane Brun (in advance of her appearance in Dublin on Nov 16th); jazz quintet Equinox, currently touring this part of the world; more keyboard sonatas by C.P.E. Bach; Finnish bowed lyre-player Pekko Kappi; an elegy for cello by John Williams (the famous Hollywood composer, rather than the guitarist of the same name); and bluesmen Fred McDowell and Big Maceo.
